Wij nemen je graag mee op onze rondreis naar Thailand in 2011! (Uitleg van onze reis in het Nederlands vind je hieronder) In juli and august of 2011 in 23 days we travel through Thailand. At home we have already mapped out a bit and we have only the flight ticket and hotel booked for the first days. The Rough Guide to backpacking we bag to go. We make our journey using public transport such as buses, trains, boats and sometimes a plane or taxi. With Emirates we fly from Dusseldorf DUS with a stopover in DXB Dubai to Bangkok BKK from the plane we take a taxi directly to Ayutthaya, where we visit temples and rent bicycles. We leave the night train or nighttrain to Nong Khai on the Mekong river, a village in Isaan and a border town with Laos. Then we follow the Mekong River to Tha Bo and Sang Khom where we sleep in huts along the water and we hope to catch giant Mekong catfish. Here we go cycling, visiting markets and rice fields and explore the less touristy Thailand. Pak Chom via Loei and we travel by bus back to Phitsanulok where we take the train to Chiang Mai. Here we visit temples, elephants and perhaps enjoy a Thai massage. From Chiang Mai we travel back to where we started: Bangkok, here we go at least the reclining Buddha and the Royal Palace and ...
